How To Easily Turn Your Blog Posts Into YouTube Videos

You just hit publish on an awesome blog post which you’re super proud of. You browse through the finished post and nod your head a couple of times.

What’s next? Wait for the visitors to come, right?

Well, this is how it usually goes for a lot of bloggers but this isn’t (and shouldn’t be) enough for your blog post to see it’s full potential. You still need to promote that post as much as you can instead of just relying on SEO traffic.

Besides sharing on the obvious social channels, Facebook and Twitter, you could also turn your article into different types of media. Like video, for example.

Turning your awesome blog post into a YouTube video isn’t as much work as it sounds. Getting the post written from idea, research and structuring is probably the tougher task. All you need to do now is to convert this finished product into another media format.

And you probably have a nice collection of blog posts on your blog which you can turn into YouTube video and access another source of traffic to your blog. This could mean more revenue, more affiliate commissions, more leads and so on for your business.

So how do you turn your blog posts into YouTube video? I’ll explain how you can easily do this in the following article.

What You’ll Need

To get this done, you’ll need several things. I’ll list these below and then give you the details on how to use them to create your video. You’ll need:

• an awesome blog post
• video editing software
• online video creator service
• royalty free video and images
• royalty free background music
• a text to speech generator
• Canva

You may not need all of the above to get the job done. Some can be optional.

Turn Your Blog Post Into A YouTube Video

There are several ways you can go about doing this. Ultimately, it’s up to you and what you can handle or which method you prefer.

You options include:

1. Use video editing software to create a video based on your blog post
2. Creating a slideshow presentation and then converting it to video
3. Using an online video creator to turn your blog posts into video
4. Hiring it out to a freelancer on Fiverr or another marketplace

Before you begin using any of the methods, there are some things you need to do first to prepare.

First, you aren’t going to put the entire post into your video word for word. The best performing videos are short (no more than 8 minutes). So what you need to do is to go through that awesome post you want to turn into a video and pick out the key points.

With your list of key points, you’ll need to write a script for your YouTube video that includes an introduction (what you’ll cover in the video), your key points and a wrap up.

With this video script, you can use it with any of the options listed to get your video done.

Method 1: Use Video Editing Software to Create Your Video

You probably have a video editing software on your computer already. If not, you can find free software online that will help you to edit and create videos.

My favorite one to use is Filmora from Wondershare but there are many other free to use video editing software available for you to download and use to create videos.

If you’re new to video editing, just search for tutorials on YouTube and you’ll find plenty of helpful videos for the video editing software you chose.

All you really need to do is to add your royalty free photos and videos onto the timeline, add a voiceover you either recorded yourself or created with a text to speech generator and then upload it to YouTube.

You can get creative by adding text to the screen, adding an intro which you can create in Canva (just search video intro templates) and using transitions and effects that come with your video editor.

Here are some sites where you can find free-to-use stock videos and images for your video.

• Unsplash (for stock photos)
• Pexels (for stock photos and free stock video)
• Videvo (for free stock video)
• Pixabay (for free stock photos and video)

Remember, you can also use your own video footage, photos and screenshots if you want. You may also want to add some background music to add some life to your video. There are also sites that have royalty free background music for you to use.

Just remember to respect copyright and try not to use commercially available music, videos or random photos downloaded from a Google Images search.

This is probably the toughest option of the four listed so it gets easier. Let’s move on to the next option.

Method 2: Create A Slideshow Presentation

A presentation type video can also work too. If you want to present your blog post as a video then you’ll need to create some slides from the script you have.

You can do this in any slideshow creator. Here are a few that you could use.

• Microsoft Powerpoint
• Google Slides
• Canva (presentation templates)

I prefer using Canva as I use it for everything when it comes to graphics these days. You can find some cool presentation templates there that allow you to create slides of your script.

Microsoft Powerpoint allows you to create a slideshow presentation and then convert it to a video for YouTube. Other slideshow creators, including Canva, have similar features.

In Canva, just search for “Slideshow videos” under templates, browse through the templates they have, pick one and edit it. You can use your own photos and videos, use the free ones available in their library or upload some you got from the royalty free sites I mentioned above.

You can add background music from Canva’s library to spice up your presentation.

Method 3: Use An Online Video Creator

If you don’t want to use a video editing software to put together your video or you don’t want to use the slideshow method, you can easily create a video by using online video creators.

One of the best ones that use AI technology to put together videos based on content ie. your script, that you feed it is Lumen5.

In Lumen5, you have two options to turn your blog post into a video.

You can either type in your blog post url and have Lumen5 create your post for you automatically or paste in your script. You’ll be able to edit the final video in the dashboard or save it as it is. And it’s all done in less than a minute.

Method 4: Pay Someone To Create A Video

And if all of that sounds too much for you, the final option is to pay someone to do it for you.

Getting up just one video on your YouTube channel is better than not starting at all. Your video might actually do well and you’ll want to create even more. Don’t let your fears stop you from doing video.

Hiring someone to create videos for you is easy with services like Fiverr where you can find freelancers to do whatever task you want.

On Fiverr, tasks start at $5 minimum but you can expect to pay more for better quality work. You can get someone on Fiverr to create YouTube videos for you starting as low as $5 per video.

There are also other marketplaces for freelancers such as Upwork and Freelancer.com but I think than Fiverr is probably the easiest to browse and find someone reasonable to get the work done.
