When building a fitness themed website or blog, one of the things you’ll have to think carefully about is the design.

If you decide to use WordPress then you would just need to find a fitness or gym-focused theme and your problem is solved. Using a generic or all-purpose theme doesn’t quite communicate what your website is all about. If you do use a generic theme then you’ll have to do a lot of extra work to achieve the desired result.

I’ve done some looking around one various WordPress theme clubs and found a handful of feature-rich fitness themes that are really great when it comes to aesthetic, design and functionality.

1. Fitness Theme from MyThemeShop

One of the best WordPress themes I found was this Fitness Theme from MyThemeShop. They describe the theme as a “fully-optimized premium WordPress theme “fit” for your health and fitness website.

This theme was built more for a fitness blog than for a gym website but it is beautiful and can be adapted into whatever you want.

There are lots of features packed into this theme just like most other MyThemeShop themes. Fully-responsive, SEO-ready and speed optimized, this theme is perfect if performance is most important to you.

Besides performance, the Fitness Theme features a very attractive design that will catch the eyes of visitors. There are 7 unique homepage sections which means that you can change up the design of the homepage and put it the way you like. The sliders and carousels included are very easy to customize.

The blog section has 2 different layouts to choose from and you can change the fonts and header design to make it your own. Furthermore, the easy-to-use options panel is packed with customization options so you can change things up as you like.

If you’d like to add a shop to your website, then this can be easily done as the theme is compatible with Woocommerce and has options built into it just for this.

There a lots of features, too many to mention here that will make this theme just as exciting to setup as it would be for your visitors to admire. Check out the full set of features here.

They’re all beautiful and packed with features to make your visitors remember you and want to visit again.

  1. Beautiful reviews of the themes from the top theme makers and I must say, anyone in the fitness line of blogging or marketing would find this to be a golden opportunity. These themes look very cool and awesome  with exceptional features that single handedly differentiate them. Being the fact that I love black colors generally, I would go for the Fitness Theme from MyThemeShop. Also, it supports woocommerce and that is another bonus to it. Great one!

    • Yeah I like that one too the most but the only downside to it is that it’s more of a blogging theme if you’re going to write about fitness, health and related topics. But these themes are very customizable and you could still do a lot with it. The other themes though come more ready for building a gym website or for other businesses like crossfit, dance, martial arts or yoga.

Still love that MyThemeShop one though. My second pick would probably be the FlexUp theme because of the whitespace and clean look.

  2. This is a really good post for anyone who is looking to go into the fitness or gym niche. I like that this themes come from some of the best theme providers. I personally like the Gym edge because it looks really cool with the dark background. It’s cool too that it’s compatible for mobile phones too. Awesome post.

    • Thank you for letting me know what theme got your attention. All modern themes are supposed to be mobile responsive so that they’re compatible with mobile devices and all of these themes fit the description.

  3. Hi

This is a mine of information for those looking for themes  for their gym and fitness business. When you are presented with so many choices, it becomes a difficult to know what theme is the best and what features come with that theme. Your review is  brilliant on highlighting what the best features of each theme is and what  to expect whilst using them.

This list will certainly help me and others come up with an informed decision of what theme to choose.

    Thank you

    Antonio

  4. What an informative post.  As I am going to do my next website blog on women over 50 and our running challenges.  I especially appreciated this article.  My favourite is the Fitness Theme by MyThemeShop.  I found this look attractive and eye catching and it also looked easy to navigate.

I am new to the online marketing, so I am not really familiar with all the different themes out there and the advantages of each.  I would like to blog about a running journey and post training schedules and eventually add featured products.  It would be interesting to know what theme you would recommend for me.  Do you have a preference?  I don’t do well with complicated, simple is better.

    • If you’re just blogging then the Fitness theme from MyThemeShop is simple enough out of these 6 choices.
